Nagoya, Japan, September 23 (QNA) - HE Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain said he was grateful for the phenomenal feat achieved by Qatar's shooting team after claiming two gold medals in the men's skeet competition, in both the individual and team events.
Speaking to the press, he said this feat suggests that Qatar was incredibly advancing its sports excellence across major contests, along with the shooters' capability of squaring off against the strongest shooters at major sporting events.
Al Buenain congratulated the shooters who made this tremendous achievement, underlining that he is proud of the top-profile levels those shooters showcased, chiefly shooter Rashid Al Athba, who won the individual gold medal.
He added that the feat was a reflection of the incredible efforts, work and collaboration among the athletes, coaching and administrative staff, alongside the Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation.
He highlighted that the shooters showcased tremendous performances during these contests and won two gold medals as a result. He noted that the two gold medals not only reaffirmed the strength of Qatari shooting but also provided a significant morale boost for all Qatari athletes competing at the Asian Games, expressing his confidence in their capabilities across all sports.
Al Buenain stressed that he looks forward to building on this momentum with strength through the remainder of the competitions, achieving further positive results and hoisting Qatar's flag aloft on the podium.
Furthermore, Al Buenain noted that Qatar's two shooting golds brought its Asian Games medal haul to four (two golds, a silver and a bronze), praising the Al Annabi karate champions for opening the medal campaign with two medals.
