Riyadh, September 22 (QNA) - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Saudi Cabinet session Tuesday and condemned the Houthi group's latest attempt to target Makkah Al Mukarramah.

He said the attempted attack had drawn international condemnation and repudiation, underscoring the widespread outrage over any violation of the sanctity of Islam's holy sites and the offense it causes Muslims around the world.

The Saudi monarch also praised the country's military and security forces for defending the Kingdom and resolutely thwarting any attacks on the Holy Sites, worshipers, citizens or residents.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet called for adherence to international law as regional tensions continue to unfold, stressing the need to respect national sovereignty and resolve conflicts through peaceful means.

It also emphasized the importance of keeping international waterways safe for navigation to protect national security, advance the aspirations of peoples and help safeguard global commercial traffic and supply chains. (QNA)
