Doha, September 22 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education launched the "Manarat Elm" initiative in partnership with the Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah For Humanitarian Services Foundation to provide educational support to eligible private school and kindergarten students.
The initiative covers tuition fees, textbooks, uniforms, transportation, bags, and learning devices.
Expanding into higher education for the first time, it offers eligible graduates a 30 percent tuition discount at Lusail University.
Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama said the initiative relies on community partnerships and philanthropists, with additional social responsibility projects planned for this year.
Director of the Private Schools and Kindergartens Affairs Department Dr. Rania Mohammed revealed that 18,124 seats have been allocated under the project, noting that application timelines and school registration procedures are being further structured.
Representative of the foundation Dr. Ayedh Al Qahtani stated that participating schools are listed on the foundation's website for donor selection, emphasizing that student applications undergo strict evaluation using code numbers to ensure complete privacy. (QNA)
