Doha, September 21 (QNA) - Qatar's Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman) has joined a national campaign aimed at promoting digital safety and protecting children and families from online risks.

The campaign, organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Family, brings together 20 national organizations to raise awareness of safe and responsible technology use.

Aman said its participation will focus on preventing technology-related extortion and helping children, young people and families recognize and respond to unsafe online behavior.

The center will publish a series of awareness messages and short videos on its social media platforms covering privacy and personal data protection, safe sharing of images and information, suspicious links and online content, and how to respond to digital extortion. It will also conduct awareness workshops in schools and kindergartens.

Aman's Acting Executive Director Fadl Mohammed Al Kaabi said protecting children and young people in the digital environment had become an essential part of social protection, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts by families, institutions and the wider community.

Hanan Al Ali, the center's Director of the Media and Communications Office, said the campaign would combine digital communication with direct awareness activities, including age-appropriate workshops for students.

She said the initiative aims to help children protect themselves, families support them, and the wider community recognize when and how to seek help when facing online threats. (QNA)
