Doha, September 21 (QNA) - Qatar Post participated in the proceedings of the Arab Postal Regulatory Forum 2026, which convened in Doha on September 20 and 21, under the theme, "Postal Sector Reform in the Arab Region: Enabling Innovation, Competition and Sustainable Digital Trade," with the participation of several regulatory bodies, postal operators, and experts from various Arab countries.
The forum addressed the main challenges facing the postal sector in the region, with emphasis on developing regulatory frameworks that support innovation and competition, keep pace with accelerating growth in digital commerce and logistics services, and foster cooperation and exchange of expertise among stakeholders in the sector.
Qatar Post participated in the forum as part of its commitment to contributing to sector development and promoting regional and international cooperation, as well as exchanging expertise and best practices in the fields of postal operations and cross-border logistics services.
The second day of the forum included a session titled "Customs, Postal Security, and Cross-Border Integrity," in which Chief Operating Officer of Qatar Post, Hamad Mohammed Al Fahaidha, participated. The session discussed ways to enhance coordination among relevant bodies, customs and security frameworks and regulations, align Universal Postal Union (UPU) documents with changing public policy objectives and postal security standards, cross-border data governance, supply chain resilience, as well as cooperation among customs authorities, crisis preparedness, and business continuity assurance.
Qatar Post's participation in the forum underscores its commitment to keeping pace with developments in the postal sector and contributing to the promotion of cooperation and exchange of knowledge and expertise at the regional and international levels, in support of developing postal and logistics services that are more efficient, resilient, and secure, and capable of keeping pace with the accelerating changes in digital commerce and the global economy.
