Doha, September 20 (QNA) - Some indicators of Qatar's real estate market improved last week, according to data from the General Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat).

According to data published on Aqarat's X account, the total value of sales contracts during the 38th week of 2026, spanning from September 13 to 19, reached QR 430.7 million. This marks a 12.3 percent increase week-on-week, though down 14.9 percent year-on-year, across 120 executed contracts, which represent a 12.4 percent weekly decrease and a 9.8 percent annual decline.

The authority noted that sales during the week were distributed by property type: villas accounted for QR 203.5 million (49.4 percent) of total sales value, followed by vacant land plots at QR 178.5 million (43.3 percent), residential apartments at QR 27 million (27 percent), and other property types totaling QR 2.6 million (2.6 percent).

Al Daayen Municipality led trading volumes at QR 137.9 million, followed by Doha Municipality at QR 105 million, and Al Rayyan Municipality at QR 97.8 million.

The authority also reported that the number of mortgage contracts during the week reached 37, with a total value of QR 805.42 million, registering an increase of 184.6 percent week-on-week and 54.2 percent year-on-year. Mortgage values by property type included vacant land at QR 446 million (50.2 percent), villas at QR 330 million (37.2 percent), and residential buildings at QR 111 million (12.5 percent).

Doha Municipality ranked first in mortgage value at QR 505 million, followed by Al Rayyan Municipality at QR 205 million, and Al Khor and Al Thakira Municipality at QR 142 million.

Regarding rentals, Aqarat recorded 502 lease contracts valued at QR 4.76 million, compared to 538 contracts valued at QR 5.47 million the previous week. This represents a 13 percent decrease in value week-on-week and a 6.7 percent drop in the number of contracts. (QNA)
