Doha, September 02 (QNA) - Qatar Scientific Club (QSC) wrapped up the inaugural Young Inventors Program Wednesday, which brought together 35 young men and women who developed seven innovative projects.
Program Director Eng. Aisha Al Jaber told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that, as part of the final project implementation phase, program tools and equipment had been handed to participants, with the final day devoted to participating teams showcasing their projects and prototypes before a judging panel.
She said the aforementioned projects went through stages of thinking outside the box, design, development and implementation before being further evaluated based on specific criteria.
What obviously characterized this experience was that the outcomes were not merely seven projects, but also the skills and expertise participants internalized in innovation, Al Jaber asserted. She explained that they successfully pulled off a series of challenging problem-solving and teamwork tasks.
She recalled that participants had turned their ideas into practical prototypes, and hoped that the conclusion of the program would herald a new journey for those young people in the world of innovation and invention.
Those who finished in third place would have the opportunity to participate in international exhibitions, Al Jaber noted.
Having assembled young people aged 15 to 30, the program was intended to foster their interests in science, technology and innovation.
Last February, the Ministry of Sports and Youth launched the program in collaboration with professional institutions operating in the fields of education, research and entrepreneurship to create an integrated environment, hone participants' skills, and turn their proposed ideas into viable projects.
