Arab League Says It Is Intensifying Contacts to Promote Consensus Among Libyan Parties
Cairo, September 02 (QNA) - The Arab League said it is closely following developments in Libya, noting that it will intensify its contacts and consultations in the coming period with various Libyan parties, concerned Arab countries and the United Nations Mission, with the aim of enhancing prospects for consensus and bringing Libyans' views closer.
In a statement Wednesday, the Arab League said the current phase requires building on all efforts that could help narrow differences among Libyans and create conditions for a transition to a more stable phase, leading to an end to the state of division, the unification of institutions, and progress toward the desired political and electoral milestones.
It stressed the importance of national consensus in ensuring Libya's unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of its national decision-making. (QNA)
