Doha, September 17 (QNA) - The State of Qatar on Thursday strongly condemned a Houthi drone attack on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that produced civilian casualties.

Earlier in the day, Saudi civil defense said debris from an intercepted drone had killed one civilian and wounded two others in Taif governorate. It also caused material damage to several buildings and vehicles.

A statement from Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the attack in the strongest possible terms, describing it as a "shameful" act of aggression and "disregard" of civilians' lives.

The statement added that the attack constituted a "blatant" breach of the Kingdom's sovereignty and a violation of the rules of international law.

Doha expressed full solidarity with Riyadh and said it would support all legitimate measures the Kingdom would take to preserve its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and interests.

The ministry emphasized that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of that of the State of Qatar and the collective security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

The statement carried Doha's condolences to the family of the deceased and wishes of speedy recovery to those injured. (QNA)
