Saudi Arabia Condemns Houthi Drone Launch Towards Holy City of Makkah
Riyadh, September 16 (QNA) - Saudi Arabia has condemned a Houthi drone attack targeting the holy city of Makkah Al Mukkaramah.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the incident was a "cowardly" attack towards the holy city, describing it as a repeated attempt by the Houthis to target and violate Islamic holy sites and provoke Muslims around the world.
The ministry praised the vigilance of the Saudi Air Defense Forces, which intercepted and destroyed the drone before it entered the restricted airspace over Mekkah.
Saudi Arabia renewed its call on the international community to condemn serious attacks by the Houthis against Islamic holy sites, civilian and economic targets in the kingdom, as well as threats to maritime navigation and international trade.
The kingdom also reaffirmed its right to take all necessary measures to protect the security of the two holy mosques, pilgrims, its territory, citizens and residents. (QNA)
