German Chancellor, Iraqi PM Hold Talks on Regional, International Issues
Berlin, September 15 (QNA) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz met Tuesday with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al Zaidi during his visit to Germany and discussed with him a variety of regional and international issues, as well as relations between Germany and Iraq.
Addressing a joint press conference with the German Chancellor, the Iraqi Prime Minister said Iraq counts Germany among its reliable partners, welcoming German firms that are willing to participate in Iraq's development and investment projects.
Al Zaidi assured that Iraq could benefit from German expertise when it comes to technology and equipment.
For his part, Merz said the mission of German forces within the global coalition expires at the end of September 2026, emphasizing Germany's readiness to continue providing security and economic aid to Iraq. (QNA)
