Washington, September 15 (QNA) - Apple has officially released its latest operating systems, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27, as well as macOS 27, known as "macOS Golden Gate," following months of beta testing.

Siri AI, Apple's revamped artificial intelligence-powered assistant, is among the most significant additions. It can understand users' personal context, recognize what is displayed on their screens and perform actions across apps, enabling more conversational and context-aware interactions.

Siri AI is initially rolling out in English, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish expected in October. Apple has not announced a timeline for Arabic-language support.

Apple said Siri AI and other new Apple Intelligence features will not initially be available in China as the company works through regulatory requirements. In the European Union, Siri AI will initially be unavailable on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, while Mac and Apple Vision Pro users in the region can access the feature when their devices are set to a supported language.

The updates also introduce refinements to Apple's Liquid Glass design, new Apple Intelligence capabilities and performance improvements, along with new features across the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and Apple Vision Pro.

Apple has also introduced a dedicated Siri app, although the company says the app will become available in a future software update rather than as part of the initial rollout.

iOS 27 is compatible with iPhone 11 and later models, as well as the second-generation iPhone SE and later. Siri AI, however, requires compatible devices that support Apple Intelligence, meaning it is not available across all iOS 27-compatible iPhones.

macOS 27 Golden Gate is available exclusively for Macs powered by Apple silicon, with Apple confirming that macOS 26 was the final major release to support Intel-based Macs and Rosetta.

The updates may take time to reach all eligible users as downloads increase following the launch. (QNA)
