Doha, September 12 (QNA) - Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Doha will host the 6th World Conference on International Arbitration on November 3-4.

The conference, organized by the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber, will be held under the theme "ADR in a Changing World: From Judicial Oversight to AI".

HE Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali Al-Thani, Vice Chairman of QICCA and Chairman of the conference's organizing committee, said holding the sixth edition of the World Conference on International Arbitration in Doha underscored Qatar's growing standing as a leading regional and international hub for dispute resolution and its continued role in supporting and developing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms in line with international best practices and standards.

His Excellency added that the conference is being held as part of continued cooperation with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) as an organizing partner, alongside support and active participation of several prominent international and regional institutions, including the World Bank's International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), the Oman Arbitration Center, and the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA).

This broad institutional participation, he said, underscores the conference's importance as a key platform for for arbitration, dialogue and the exchange of expertise in the field of alternative dispute resolution.

Sheikh Dr. Thani added that the conference theme reflects the rapid developments taking place in the region in arbitration, conciliation, and mediation. These developments highlight the need for continued international dialogue on the future of ADR and its ability to keep pace with legal and technological transformations.

He said the conference will bring together leading arbitrators, legal practitioners, academics, as well as representatives of regional and international arbitration institutions, providing a specialized platform to discuss key challenges and emerging trends in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.

He emphasized QICCA's commitment to promoting a culture of arbitration and fostering the exchange of legal and arbitration expertise globally, while contributing to a more efficient and flexible business and investment environment.

He further noted that a dedicated session will address the latest developments in conciliation and mediation, highlighting their growing importance as effective mechanisms for resolving commercial, legal, political, and diplomatic disputes. He underscored Qatar's prominent and influential role in international mediation, dialogue, and efforts to bridge differences and support peaceful solutions to conflicts and crises. (QNA)
