Doha, September 12 (QNA) - Qatar Charity (QC) announced that it had implemented a range of high-quality humanitarian and development projects and interventions worth approximately QAR 809 million between January and the end of July 2026. Backed by the support of donors in Qatar, the organization's services reached more than 10 million people across 44 countries worldwide.
According to a report issued by Qatar Charity, total humanitarian and relief interventions exceeded QAR 236 million, covering 31 countries and benefiting approximately 5.8 million people. Particular focus was placed on responding to major humanitarian crises in Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, and Syria, as well as supporting refugees and displaced communities and addressing overlooked humanitarian crises, such as the Rohingya refugee crisis.
In this context, Qatar Charity launched a specialized Information and Crisis Management Center to strengthen early-warning mechanisms and enhance the speed and effectiveness of decision-making. 
On the sustainable development front, Qatar Charity implemented 11,114 projects in 44 countries at a total cost of approximately QAR 573 million, benefiting more than 4.2 million people. The projects focused on key sectors including water and sanitation, health, education and culture, economic empowerment, food security, and social welfare, with priority given to fast-track projects capable of delivering results more quickly while generating sustainable impact.
In the area of social welfare, the number of people sponsored through Qatar Charity's "Rofaqa" initiative exceeded 225,000, including orphans, vulnerable families, students, and persons with disabilities. The initiative provides comprehensive support covering livelihoods, education, and personal and spiritual development.
Among the initiative's prominent programs is "Furqan," which provides Quran and Arabic language education, particularly for sponsored children in non-Arabic-speaking countries, alongside educational, cultural, and skills-development activities that contribute to character building and personal growth.
Qatar Charity has also established a dedicated international category for Rofaqa beneficiaries within the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Competition. (QNA)
