Qatar Takes Part as Guest of Honor at Costa Rica Reading Festival
Doha, September 11 (QNA) - The State of Qatar is taking part as the guest country of honor at the Costa Rica Reading Festival, being held from September 11 to 13 at the Antigua Aduana cultural center in the capital San Jose.
The 5th Fiesta de la Lectura Costa Rica 2026 is showcasing Qatar's literary and cultural output as part of efforts to strengthen cultural ties with Latin America.
A dedicated pavilion, inspired by traditional Qatari architecture, features publications by the Ministry of Culture, including works translated into Spanish, as well as books and other intellectual and literary works by Qatari authors.
Visitors can also explore traditional Qatari crafts and Arabic calligraphy through interactive activities.
Jassem Ahmed Al Buainain, director of the Doha International Book Fair, said the participation highlighted culture's role in promoting dialogue and understanding between peoples.
He said the pavilion would present a blend of Qatar's cultural heritage and contemporary creativity, while providing visitors with an insight into the country's literary, artistic and intellectual scene.
The Ministry of Culture said the participation forms part of Qatar's efforts to expand international cultural exchange and strengthen cooperation with cultural institutions and publishers worldwide. (QNA)
