European Stocks Open Higher
Brussels, August 06 (QNA) - European stock indexes rose at the start of trading on Thursday, as investors awaited an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while positive macroeconomic indicators and strong corporate earnings supported the markets, offsetting the impact of declines in technology stocks in Asian markets.
Among the major European markets, France's CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange rose 0.67 percent, surpassing the 8,700-point level and reaching a new record high for the third consecutive day. London's FTSE 100 index also gained 0.19 percent.
Germany's DAX index on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange rose 0.21 percent, while Italy's Milan stock exchange index advanced 0.54 percent. (QNA)
