Doha, August 05 (QNA) - The Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) has unveiled details of the ninth Qatar East-to-West Ultramarathon 2026, which will be staged on Nov. 27 over 90 kilometers.
The race will kick off from the Doha Corniche adjacent to the Sheraton Hotel and finish at Dukhan Beach, in collaboration with the Qatar Runners Team.
Executive Director of QSFA and head of the organizing committee Abdullah Al Dosari said the race continues to strengthen its stature as one of the most prestigious endurance contests in the region, adding that it encourages the practice of sports by making physical activity a lifestyle.
The new edition will expand to 12 categories, featuring individual and team events for men and women, in a bid to attract wider participation, Al Dosari highlighted, adding that the previous edition hosted runners from 86 nationalities.
Staged in six phases, he said the race provides stations for water and medical support supplies catered to runners along the track. Al Dosari further noted that QSFA expects the participation of almost 2,000 to 2,500 male and female contestants in this tournament. (QNA)
