Al Rayyan, Al Arabi to Compete in Al Ain International Junior Volleyball Tournament
Doha, August 30 (QNA) - Qatar's Al Rayyan and Al Arabi will compete in the Al Ain International Junior Volleyball Tournament, which will be held in the UAE city of Al Ain from tomorrow (Monday) through September 4, featuring six local and Gulf teams.
The tournament will be held at Khalifa bin Zayed Sports Hall and organized by Al Ain Club under the patronage of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, with the support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and in cooperation with the UAE Volleyball Association.
The participating teams are UAE's Al Ain, Kuwait's Al Qadsia and Burgan, Qatar's Al Rayyan and Al Arabi, and Bahrain's Al Nasr.
The tournament will get underway tomorrow with three matches. Al Ain will face Al Arabi, while Bahrain's Al Nasr will take on Al Rayyan. The third match will be an all-Kuwaiti encounter between Al Qadsia and Burgan.
During its latest meeting, the organizing committee confirmed that all organizational and technical preparations for the tournament had been completed, including the arrangements for the competition venues, teams, referees, and spectators, as well as reception procedures for the delegations, accreditation, media coverage, and the awards ceremony.
The committee said hosting the tournament in Al Ain would further strengthen the city's position as a platform for sporting events and enhance its presence on the competition calendar, supporting efforts to promote sports tourism and attract athletes and visitors from within and outside the UAE.
It also announced cash prizes for the top three teams, in addition to draws and prizes for spectators, aimed at boosting engagement and providing those attending with a comprehensive sporting and entertainment experience. (QNA)
