FIVB U-17 Volleyball World Championship (Doha 2026): France Beats Brazil to Reach Final
Doha, August 28 (QNA) - France advanced to the final of the FIVB Volleyball Boys' U17 World Championship Doha 2026 after defeating Brazil 3-1 today.
Brazil made a strong start and won the opening set 25-23, before France responded to turn the match around. The French side asserted its superiority over the next three sets, winning them 25-19, 25-21 and 25-21 to complete a 3-1 victory and secure its place in the final.
France had reached the semifinals after topping Group A with a perfect record, recording three consecutive victories over Tunisia, Qatar and Venezuela.
The French team continued its successful run in the knockout stages by overcoming Spain in the round of 16 before defeating Romania in straight sets in the quarterfinals to earn its place in the last four.
France produced strong performances throughout the tournament, demonstrating its ability to handle knockout matches before recording its most significant victory in the semifinal against Brazil, which had also impressed since the start of the competition.
France now awaits the winner of the second semifinal set to take place today between Iran and Argentina, with both teams reaching the final four following strong campaigns in the tournament. (QNA)
