LoginQatar Calendar Announces Virtuocity Battle Ground Launch in September
Doha, August 27 (QNA) - Qatar Calendar has announced the return of Virtuocity Battle Ground (VBG) Qatar 2026, a month-long premier multi-title esports championship taking place from Sep. 1 to 30 at Virtuocity, Doha Festival City. The tournament will bring together gamers, content creators and fans from across the region and beyond.
Qatar Calendar said in a statement today that VBG Qatar 2026 will feature a USD 200,000 prize pool across seven internationally recognised titles: VALORANT, Fortnite, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), EA Sports FC 26, Tekken 8 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The championship will include online qualifiers, LAN qualifiers and live Grand Finals across multiple gaming platforms.
The event also highlights the growing role of esports within Qatar's digital and entertainment landscape, providing a platform for players, creators and fans to connect through competitive gaming. The championship further contributes to the diverse Qatar Calendar events presented by Visit Qatar, while showcasing Qatar’s growing capabilities in hosting major technology-driven events.
Director of Festivals and Events at Visit Qatar Ahmed Al\ Binali said that: "The return of Virtuocity Battle Ground for its second edition reflects the growing appeal of esports and the success of the championship in bringing together gaming communities from across the region. As part of the Hala Summer 2026 programme, the event further enriches Qatar's summer calendar, offering residents and visitors world-class entertainment while reinforcing Qatar's position as a leading destination for major international events."
For his part, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Board at Leisure Ali Bin Mohammed Al Attiya commented on the announcement and said that they were "delighted to partner with Visit Qatar to bring Virtuocity Battle Ground back for its second edition. This year's championship provides an exciting platform for players, creators and fans from across the region to come together and experience competitive gaming.
