Tehran, August 27 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met in Tehran on Thursday with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi.
Discussion during the meeting dealt with the latest developments in the region and the efforts to de-escalate tensions and create a conducive environment for dialogue, thereby contributing to the enhancement of regional security and stability.
The meeting also addressed ongoing discussions regarding the proposed interim framework, which includes the establishment of a temporary joint shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz and an agreement to implement a joint project to clear the strait of mines.
During the meeting, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of neighboring countries and freedom of navigation, emphasizing the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes through dialogue.
For his part, HE the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar for its continued diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and supporting dialogue. (QNA)
