Doha, August 23 (QNA) - The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center of the Ministry of Culture is participating in the Asian Stamp Exhibition in Bandung, Indonesia, from Aug. 27-31.
The exhibition is being held under the umbrella of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP), alongside meetings of the federation's Executive Committee.
The Center is participating with five stamp exhibits that have won several medals at international exhibitions, including Qatar's first definitive stamps (8 frames); Kuwait's postal history (8 frames); Oman's postal history (5 frames); the postal history of the Yemeni city of Aden (5 frames); and interned covers from World War II (the United States and Switzerland).
By and large, the center is a member of both the Federation Internationale de Philatelie (FIP) and FIAP, in addition to serving on FIAP's Executive Committee.
It is committed to participating in international exhibitions organized by FIP and FIAP. It seeks to promote and foster stamp and coin collecting, advance the hobby and provide opportunities for its development by facilitating all possible means for its members to pursue it. (QNA)
