Paris, August 17 (QNA) - Two military personnel sustained minor injuries in a training aircraft accident in the Bouches-du-Rhone department in southern France, the armed forces said in a statement.

The statement added that the accident occurred while a Cirrus SR20 light training aircraft was being used for pilot training in aircraft handling and flight fundamentals. A flight instructor and a student pilot were aboard the aircraft.

The pilots managed to avoid residential areas before the single-engine aircraft came to rest on a regional road, the statement said, adding that no other injuries or property damage were reported.

The Ministry said a joint investigation had been opened by the Bureau of Accident Investigations for State Aviation Safety (BEA-E) and the Research Section of the Air and Space Gendarmerie to determine the cause of the accident. (QNA)
