More Than 12 Tons of Local Dates, Fruits Sold at Supermarkets

Doha, August 17 (QNA) - The Ministry of Municipality announced today the conclusion of local dates (fresh dates) sales events held at several shopping malls for more than two weeks, with the participation of 24 local farms.

In a statement, the ministry said total sales of fresh dates reached 11,731 kilograms, reflecting strong demand for local agricultural products as well as their quality and variety. Sales of other locally grown fruits totaled 1,161 kilograms.

The events form part of the Ministry of Municipality's efforts to support local farms, expand marketing outlets for agricultural products, and provide consumers with a diverse range of locally produced goods. (QNA)
