Military Takes Out About 30 Al Shabab Operatives in Southern Somalia
Mogadishu, August 17 (QNA) - About 30 militants of the Al Shabab movement, affiliated with Al Qaeda, were taken out in the city of Baidoa in southern Somalia, the military said in a statement Monday.
The statement added that the military fended off the movement's attack and captured several of its militants, along with weapons and military vehicles they were using. It pointed out that the militants used booby-trapped vehicles.
Two days ago, the authorities announced that nine Al Shabab operatives had been eliminated during a military operation in the southeast of the country, where the military is carrying out offensives against the movement. (QNA)
