Qatar Drawn Against Tunisia, France and Venezuela in U17 Volleyball World Tournament
Doha, August 15 (QNA) - The draw for the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U17 World Championship, which Doha will host from Aug. 19 to 29, placed the Qatar team in Pool A alongside Tunisia, France and Venezuela.
The tournament features 20 teams from different continents. Pool B comprises Italy, Cuba, India and Romania, while Pool C features Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Poland.
Pool D includes Spain, Egypt, Bulgaria and Turkiye, while Pool E comprises Iran, Chinese Taipei, Pakistan and Algeria.
Under the tournament format, each team will play three matches in the preliminary round, with the top 16 teams in the overall standings advancing to the Round of 16, while the four lowest-ranked teams will bow out.
The tournament will then continue through the knockout rounds, culminating in the semifinals and finals, as well as the third-place match.
Its matches will be held at Aspire Sports Hall and Al Arabi Sports Club Hall, with anticipation building for the launch of the inaugural Volleyball Boys' U17 World Championship hosted by Qatar. (QNA)
