Beirut, August 15 (QNA) - Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam said that the Israeli escalation in the city of Nabatieh, the towns of Ansar and Deir Al Zahrani, and neighboring villages is a matter of grave concern that undermines efforts to establish stability in Southern Lebanon.
In a statement issued by the Lebanese government on Saturday, Salam underscored that the seven martyrs who fell in the Israeli airstrike on the town of Ansar do not constitute military infrastructure, nor are the children and women killed in the airstrike military targets.
The responsibility for dealing with any military structures, should they exist on Lebanese soil, lies exclusively with the Lebanese state through the Lebanese Army and its legitimate institutions, stressed the Lebanese Premier. Their presence does not grant Israel the right to violate Lebanese territory or endanger civilians.
Salam added that Israel must halt this escalation and that the security of the Lebanese people and their right to live on their own land are not matters for negotiation or compromise. (QNA)
