Gold Rises Nearly 1% as World Awaits US Inflation Data

Singapore, August 12 (QNA) - Gold rose nearly 1% on Wednesday, supported by reduced bets on Federal Reserve tightening next month as investors awaited key US inflation data that could reshape policy expectations.

Spot gold gained 0.9% to $4,406.34 per ounce. US gold futures for December delivery rose 0.6% to $4,466.70

Bullion climbed to a 10-week high on Tuesday before hitting technical resistance at the 100-day moving average around $4,387 and closing lower for the second time this month.

Spot silver was up 1.2% at $65.46 per ounce, trading below its highest level since June 22 hit on Tuesday.
Platinumآ rose 0.6% to $1,754.10 and palladium gained 0.8% to $1,370.86. (QNA)
