Madrid, August 01 (QNA) - Qatar's International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) has begun field missions in Spain to help contain large-scale wildfires, operating in lockstep with Spanish Ministry of the Interior authorities and local emergency agencies.

The Qatari team held a coordination meeting with Spain's Secretary-General for Civil Protection and Emergencies at the Ministry of the Interior, alongside representatives of local authorities, to ensure an interchange of information on the latest developments and assess the situation on the ground.

The team has also established a strategic deployment plan and begun operations in affected areas, with its field activities focused on the municipality of Piedralaves in Avila Province, within Castilla and Leon, central Spain. (QNA)
