GCC Chief, EU High Representative Discuss Preparations for 2nd GCC-EU Summit
Riyadh, July 30 (QNA) - Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi held a telephone call Thursday High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.
During the call, they discussed the latest preparations for the 2nd summit between leaders of the GCC states and EU member states, alongside related topics.
They also reviewed progress in implementing the outcomes of the 1st GCC-EU Summit and the mechanisms for their execution, contributing to the bolstering of strategic relations between the GCC and the EU.
Both sides expressed their anticipation for convening the 2nd GCC-EU Summit, highlighting it as a significant strategic milestone to advance the partnership journey between the GCC and the EU.
Furthermore, both sides emphasised the importance of continuing joint work and building upon the results and initiatives accomplished since the 1st summit to cement cooperation across various priority fields. They pointed out that these efforts reflect the depth of historical ties between the GCC and the EU, fostering development and prosperity for their peoples while contributing to security, stability, and peace regionally and internationally.
