Cairo, July 28 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi discussed the worsening situation in the occupied Palestinian territories during a phone call on Tuesday.

Both sides condemned the continued Israeli violations in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and occupied East Jerusalem, as well as the rising violence across the occupied territories.

Abdelatty and Safadi stressed the need to halt all measures that undermine the prospects for peace and the two-state solution.

They also underscored the importance of implementing the US President's Gaza peace plan in all its phases and commitments, in a manner that helps consolidate the ceasefire, ensure the full delivery of humanitarian aid, and create the conditions necessary to move to the subsequent stages of the plan.

The Egyptian and Jordanian Foreign Ministers exchanged views on regional developments and ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and contain the growing instability.

They also emphasized the importance of an immediate halt to all military operations and escalatory actions, and called for prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions to prevent the conflict from widening. (QNA)
