London, July 27 (QNA) - The Cultural Attache of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom has held a convocation ceremony for 150 students of both genders.

The graduates included UK university alumni who had received scholarships from Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) and other sponsoring bodies, as well as self-funded students.

Among them were 30 graduates who earned distinction across various academic disciplines.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani; Qatar's Cultural Attache to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland Fahad bin Mohammed Al Kuwari; and Acting Director of the Scholarships Department at MOEHE Noura Al Ansari attended the ceremony alongside.

The alumni were recognized for their academic distinction and scientific achievements, something that would strengthen the supply of well-qualified national talents to the Qatari labor market.

Addressing the gathering, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani said graduation isn't the end of the road, but rather ushers in a new era that requires further responsibility and giving.

He called on the alumni to leverage what they had gained in terms of knowledge and expertise for the sake of their homeland, affirming that they need to maintain and enhance the relationship networks they have built throughout their study years to help advance the development path the country is going through.

For his part, Al Kuwari noted that Qatari students are studying at some of the UK's leading universities, adding that this year's graduates are spread across almost 40 universities in specialized disciplines aligned with labor market needs and national development priorities.

He emphasized that the cultural attaché office remains committed to monitoring students' academic progress and providing training and professional development programs that boost their readiness to transition into the workforce.

Noura Al Ansari, for her part, urged the graduates to finalize their scholarship procedures ahead of enrolling in their workplaces. She stressed the importance of continuing scientific distinction and powerfully contributing to supporting the national development pathway.

The event wrapped up with honoring top-performing students and handing certificates to graduates, who asserted that they are determined to leverage their knowledge and expertise in serving the nation and helping advance its critical sectors, particularly in the domains of cybersecurity, engineering, energy, health, as well as law and scientific research.
