Doha, July 25 (QNA) - The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal', in collaboration with the Qatar Scientific Club, has concluded the fifth edition of the "Future Engineer" programme, held from 4 to 23 July 2026, with the participation of 40 male and female secondary school students.

Building on the success of previous editions, the programme reflects Ashghal's commitment to investing in national talent from an early stage by providing a comprehensive educational experience that combines theoretical learning with practical application. The programme aims to enhance participants' creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills while introducing them to the vital role engineering plays in supporting Qatar's sustainable development.

Head of External Relations Section at Ashghal, Fatima Al Kubaisi commented saying: "The Future Engineer programme reflects Ashghal's commitment to its social responsibility by investing in young people from an early age through an integrated educational experience that combines knowledge with practical application. Providing students with direct exposure to engineering work environments and introducing them to engineering projects and disciplines helps broaden their perspectives, develop their skills, discover their career interests, and make informed decisions about their future while contributing to Qatar's national development."

For his part, Head of Training and Administrative Development Section at Ashghal, Ghanem Abdullah Al Kaabi stated: "At Ashghal, we believe that investing in young talent begins by empowering them with knowledge and practical experience. We are committed to supporting secondary school students by introducing them to a wide range of engineering disciplines, enabling them to explore their academic aspirations and make informed educational and career choices aligned with the needs of the labour market and Qatar's future development priorities."

In turn, Head of Public Relations and Communications at the Qatar Scientific Club, Khawla Al Maadheed noted that the enthusiasm and curiosity demonstrated by the participants made the programme a truly enriching experience with a lasting positive impact on their future academic and professional journeys.

The programme concluded with a closing ceremony during which participants presented their final engineering projects before a specialized judging panel. Winning teams were announced, and all participants were honored, reaffirming the success of the partnership between Ashghal and the Qatar Scientific Club in preparing a new generation equipped with knowledge, practical skills, and innovation to support the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
