Doha, July 24 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met today with HE Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom Ed Miliband, who is currently visiting the country.

At the outset of the meeting, HE the Prime Minister congratulated HE Miliband on assuming the role of Secretary of State of the United Kingdom.

The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance it, as well as the latest regional developments, particularly the diplomatic and joint coordination efforts made to de-escalate and enhance security and stability in the region.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed during the meeting the importance of ensuring all parties were committed to dialogue, diplomacy, and implementing the MoU reached between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the freedom of navigation at the Strait of Hormuz, maintaining security in the region, protecting the gains made, and enhancing regional stability.

His Excellency renewed the State of Qatar's full support for all efforts to decrease tensions to reach a comprehensive agreement that establishes permanent peace in the region. (QNA)
