Riyadh, July 22 (QNA) - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah affirmed that the region is at a critical juncture that requires stronger dialogue, diplomacy, and collective action to address regional and international challenges.

In a speech delivered via video conference during the 16th Gulf Research Meeting in Cambridge in the United Kingdom, the Saudi Foreign Minister stressed that lasting stability cannot be achieved through military force, but rather through sustainable diplomatic solutions that address the root causes of crises.

Recent developments have demonstrated how regional tensions affect the international arena, with repercussions for global security, energy markets, and economic growth, he added.

The Saudi Foreign Minister called for efforts to focus on preserving the existing international order and creating the conditions necessary for political solutions that lead to lasting peace and security, rather than merely pursuing temporary de-escalation.

He noted that building a more stable regional order requires adherence to the fundamental principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter, foremost among them respect for the sovereignty of states, non-interference in their internal affairs, good-neighborly relations, freedom of navigation, and compliance with international law.

These principles form the foundation of any stable regional system, the Saudi Foreign Minister emphasized.

He also said that the region possesses significant potential to achieve a more prosperous future, expressing optimism that it can overcome its current challenges. (QNA)
