Kuwait's Main Stock Market Index Closes Lower

Kuwait, July 15 (QNA) - Kuwait's main stock market index closed lower on Wednesday, slipping 0.10 percent or 8.58 points to finish at 8,649.94.
A total of 202.1 million shares changed hands in 16,433 cash transactions, with a combined value of KWD 52 million (about USD 169.3 m).
The Main Market outperformed the broader index, rising 3.38 points, or 0.04 percent, to close at 8,798.95. Trading in the segment totaled 125.3 million shares worth KWD 23.3 million (around USD 75.8 m) across 9,053 transactions.
By contrast, the Premier Market Index fell 11.58 points, or 0.13 percent, to 9,067.15. It recorded trading of 76.8 million shares valued at KWD 28.7 million (approximately USD 93.4 m) through 7,380 transactions.
The Main 50 Index dropped by 33.55 points, or 0.33 percent, to end at 10,132.08, with 102.5 million shares traded in 6,872 transactions worth KWD 19.6 million (about USD 63.8 m). (QNA)
