Arab League Condemns Israeli Minister's Gaza Settlement Plans
Cairo, July 14 (QNA) - The Arab League has condemned Israeli occupation defense minister's remarks on plans to establish settlements in the northern Gaza Strip, describing them as evidence of an intention to reoccupy parts of the territory.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy said the reported comments reflected "the Israeli right's true plan to reoccupy Gaza, or parts of it".
Fahmy argued that such a move would be in direct contradiction to a peace plan proposed last year, as well as UN Security Council Resolution 2803, adopted in November 2025.
He called on the international community and the UN Security Council to oppose "extremist right-wing" policies aimed at entrenching Israel's occupation, adding that the Israeli government was under the full influence of the settler movement. (QNA)
