Somalia Declares Three Days of Mourning Following Passing of Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani
Mogadishu, July 13 (QNA) - The Federal Republic of Somalia announced today three days of official mourning following the passing of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
In a statement, Somalia's Ministry of Information said President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud had declared three days of official mourning in honor of HH the late Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. The ministry said the decision reflected the Somali leadership's deep appreciation for the late leader's distinguished stature and paid tribute to his remarkable legacy and enduring contributions supporting the Somali people. It also underscored the strong and longstanding fraternal ties between Somalia and Qatar and their two peoples.
The statement added that the Father Amir had been one of Somalia's foremost supporters throughout various stages of the country's development, and that his passing was a great loss for both the Arab and Islamic worlds. (QNA)
