Gaza, July 01 (QNA) - The Palestinian Civil Defense said the Israeli occupation army killed 145 of its personnel while they were undertaking their humanitarian missions throughout 1,000 days of the war of annihilation.
In a report issued on Wednesday to mark 1,000 days of the war of genocide Israel is unleashing in the Gaza Strip, the Civil Defense added that its personnel came under methodical and direct Israeli attacks throughout the multi-day period of relentless war.
These offensives killed dozens of Palestinians and caused near devastation to infrastructure and rescue equipment, the report noted.
It further explained that throughout this staggering suffering onsite, the occupation army took the lives of those personnel who were saving civilians and wounded 347 others, several of whom sustained permanent disabilities.
The Civil Defense said these actions flagrantly run afoul of international law and the Geneva Conventions that prohibit targeting relief and rescue teams.
The organization added that Israeli military aircraft and vehicles decimated 94% of its premises and centers across all governorates of the Gaza enclave, and directly targeted its crews while on duty on 38 separate occasions.
The report added that direct Israeli shelling has taken 39 Civil Defense vehicles entirely out of service, while 45 other vehicles require urgent maintenance and spare parts that Israel prevents from being brought in.
The report further noted that it had received 191,043 distress calls from Palestinian civilians trapped under the rubble and in targeted locations, however, field personnel were barely able to respond to only 50% of them, due to a severe shortage of fuel and equipment, the devastation of roads and infrastructure, as well as the unabated Israeli pursuit and fire salvos.
Israel has waged a devastating war on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, which shattered all aspects of life and infrastructure, service facilities, as well as both public and private institutions and establishments.
The Israeli occupation army has killed over 73,000 Palestinians and injured over 173,000 others, while thousands remain missing. (QNA)
