Shafallah Center Executive Director: Center's Efforts an Extension of Qatar's Approach to Support, Empower Persons with Disabilities
Doha, June 09 (QNA) - Executive Director of the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities Fatima Saeed Al Saadi affirmed that the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani for the 2026 graduation ceremony of the center's participants reflects the great attention given by Qatar to persons with disabilities as well as its commitment to supporting their journey towards empowerment and active participation in society.
The graduation ceremony represents a national and humanitarian occasion that embodies Qatar's commitment to consolidating the principles of inclusion, equality, and equal opportunities in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, she added, emphasizing that graduation marks the beginning of a new phase of contribution, independence, and engagement in professional and social life.
She affirmed that the efforts exerted by the Shafallah Center are an extension of the State of Qatar's approach to support and empower persons with disabilities in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030 and based on Law No. 22 of 2025 concerning persons with disabilities, which promotes the principles of inclusion, equal opportunities, independence, and active participation in society.
The center's programs and initiatives also contribute to translating these national objectives by providing specialized educational and rehabilitation services that support the capabilities of its members and expand their opportunities for participation in education, work, and community life.
Al Saadi noted that the center continues to prepare its members for working life through integrated educational and rehabilitation programs, in cooperation with various entities in the public and private sectors, thus contributing to enhancing their integration into society and the labor market.
The Shafallah Center offers a comprehensive range of educational and rehabilitation programs and services to meet the needs of its members, from academic qualification to vocational training and sports and arts activities, with a focus on developing the personal and life skills necessary for independence and community participation.
It also continues to support economic empowerment opportunities for people with disabilities by preparing them for the labor market. A number of its graduates have secured jobs in various public and private sector entities, which enhances their job stability and their active participation in diverse work environments.
Established in 1999, the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, one of the centers of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, aims at providing specialized educational and rehabilitation services for persons with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, in addition to promoting community awareness of their rights and supporting their opportunities for integration and independence.
