UN Warns of Continuing Violence Against Palestinians in the West Bank
New York, June 08 (QNA) - The United Nations has warned of continuing violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman for the United Nations, said that violence continues to affect Palestinians across the West Bank and stressed the need to protect them.
Haq added that Israeli occupation forces opened fire, killing a 7-month-old Palestinian infant in the city of Hebron and wounding the child's parents when their vehicle came under fire as it approached an Israeli military patrol.
He also said that injuries were reported during an Israeli military raid on the Balata refugee camp in the city of Nablus, following the use of live ammunition and tear gas.
Haq stressed the need to protect Palestinians in the West Bank, as required under the law, and to hold those responsible for violations accountable. (QNA)
