SCAA Extends Closure of Syria's Southern Air Corridors, Keeps Damascus Airport Operations Suspended
Damascus, June 08 (QNA) - The Syrian Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) announced Monday that it has extended precautionary measures involving the closure of the nation's southern air corridors.
In a statement, the SCAA highlighted that the suspension of operations at Damascus International Airport will remain in effect until 11:00 p.m.
The decision to extend the measures came in the wake of ongoing monitoring of regional developments and their evaluation by the committee specialized in risk management, the statement said.
The statement added that these measures are intended to maintain the highest levels of aviation safety and security in line with approved international standards.
Earlier today, Syrian Airways announced changes to several scheduled flights against the backdrop of the temporary closure of southern air corridors due to developments in the region. (QNA)
