Baghdad, June 08 (QNA) - Iraq's Ministerial Council for National Security reaffirmed Baghdad's longstanding position rejecting the use of Iraqi territory or airspace as a launching point for attacks against neighboring countries.

The media office of the Iraqi prime minister said that Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al Zaidi, commander in chief of the armed forces, chaired an emergency meeting of the council on Monday, during which participants reaffirmed Iraq's longstanding position rejecting the use of Iraqi territory and airspace as a launching point for attacks against neighboring countries.

Al Zaidi stressed the importance of preserving regional stability, noting that such stability would have a positive impact on Iraq's security and stability.

The meeting reviewed the most significant regional developments and their potential repercussions for Iraq, as well as precautionary plans aimed at maintaining domestic stability. (QNA)
