GCC Secretary-General, Iraqi Foreign Minister Review Evolving Regional Situation
Baghdad, June 30 (QNA) - Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met Tuesday with Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, during his visit to Iraq.
The two sides discussed the evolving regional and international situation, foremost of which were the developments playing out in the region.
They underscored the importance of giving overriding priority to diplomacy, de-escalation, respecting nations' sovereignty, and resolving disputes through peaceful means, which ultimately help strengthen regional security and stability.
Conversations during the meeting focused on advancing bilateral relationship in pursuit of common interests.
In this regard, Albudaiwi stated that he handed a Gulf message to the Iraqi Foreign Minister outlining a range of matters of mutual interest.
He added that the meeting emphasized the importance of moving ahead to take practical steps that enhance the path of the bilateral relationship as part of joint coordination.
This includes doubling down on dialogue, finding viable solutions for all outstanding issues, and building on what has been accomplished to help elevate these ties to broader heights, achieve shared interests, and reinforce security, stability, and prosperity. (QNA)
