17 Militants Killed in Pakistani Army Operations in Southwest Pakistan
Islamabad, June 03 (QNA) The Pakistani army announced the killing of 17 militants during security operations in the southwest of the country.
In a statement, the army said that these security operations followed an attack on a passenger train in the Pakistani city of Quetta on June 24, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.
It added that its forces carried out the operations based on intelligence information in several districts of Balochistan province in the southwest of the country, resulting in the killing of 17 militants and the seizure of a quantity of weapons in their possession.
Pakistani forces have been continuing their efforts for years to eliminate armed groups entrenched in mountainous areas, who launch attacks against civilians and security personnel from time to time. (QNA)
