Israeli Forces Continue Attacks on Southern Lebanon Despite Framework Agreement
Beirut, June 29 (QNA) - Israeli forces continued military operations in southern Lebanon on Monday despite the framework agreement signed between Lebanon and Israel, with Lebanese state media reporting damage to residential properties in several border towns.
Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) said several homes in the southern towns of Majdal Zoun and al-Mansouri were damaged in explosions carried out by Israeli forces on Sunday evening.
NNA said only a small number of families remain in al-Mansouri, while Majdal Zoun has been left uninhabited after Israeli forces prevented residents from returning to what remained of their homes.
In a related development, Israeli forces demolished residential buildings in the towns of Taybeh and Hadatha and fired stun grenades near civilians in Borj Qalaouiyeh and Braachit.
The framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel includes security arrangements, the disarmament of armed groups, the redeployment of the Lebanese Armed Forces, internationally backed reconstruction of war-affected areas, measures to support Lebanon's economic recovery, the establishment of direct communication channels between the two sides, and confidence-building measures intended to pave the way for lasting peace.
