Qatar Participates in International Maritime Organization Navigation and Search and Rescue Meetings

London, June 28 (QNA) - The State of Qatar, represented by its Permanent Delegation to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), took part in the meetings of the IMO's Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue (NCSR 13), convened at the IMO Headquarters in London, UK.
The participation was part of the State of Qatar's commitment to backing international efforts to strengthen maritime safety, the efficiency of maritime navigation and communications systems, as well as search and rescue services, thereby helping safeguard lives at sea and advance the IMO's objectives.
During the meetings, the committee discussed a range of matters related to advancing maritime navigation and communications systems, along with search and rescue services.
The meetings also went over updating maritime routes and reinforcing relevant evidence and technical guidelines, thereby boosting the safety and efficiency of international maritime transportation.
Having participated in these meetings, the State of Qatar's delegation underscored the importance of boosting international cooperation in the fields of navigation, search and rescue, in addition to supporting efforts to enhance regulatory and technical frameworks that help ensure the safety and security of maritime navigation, into line with the relevant international agreements and instruments.
