German Railway Network Gradually Resumes Services After Technical Malfunction
Berlin, June 24 (QNA) - The German railway company Deutsche Bahn announced that its services were resuming "step by step" after a nearly three-hour disruption that brought all its operations nationwide to a standstill.
A problem with the communications system forced the German rail network to halt all trains late Tuesday, leaving passengers stranded across the country.
The German newspaper Bild quoted Deutsche Bahn CEO Evelyn Palla saying that they "were able to stabilize the situation with an emergency system.”
The state-owned German railway company has begun a comprehensive overhaul of its main lines after years of underinvestment in an effort to improve their performance. (QNA)
