Qatar, UK and France Ministers Visit Lebanon's DRM Unit
Beirut, June 18 (QNA) - A joint ministerial delegation from Qatar, the United Kingdom and France has visited Lebanon's Disaster Risk Management Unit (DRM Unit) as part of international efforts to strengthen humanitarian support for the Lebanese people.
The delegation included HE Minister of State for International Cooperation of the State of Qatar Dr Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad; HE Baroness Chapman of Darlington, Minister of State (International Development and Africa) of the United Kingdom; and HE Eleonore Caroit, Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.
During the visit, the ministers were briefed on the emergency response mechanisms employed by the DRM Unit and the measures being taken to address the impact of the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Officials outlined efforts to meet the urgent needs of those affected by the crisis, including displaced people, and highlighted coordination between national and international partners involved in relief operations.
The visit comes amid continued international engagement aimed at supporting Lebanon's humanitarian response and strengthening assistance for vulnerable communities across the country. (QNA)
