Tashkent, June 18 (QNA) - The fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF) concluded on Thursday in the Uzbek capital following three days of high-level plenary sessions and investment dialogues.
The event drew more than 4,000 participants from 100 countries, including senior government officials, multinational corporate executives, and representatives from leading international organizations.
The State of Qatar participated in the forum with a delegation from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Convened under the theme "Investment Resilience: New Horizons, New Partnerships," this year's forum focused heavily on critical raw materials, green energy transition, geological resources, and artificial intelligence (AI). The agenda featured structured panels on pressing global economic challenges alongside targeted bilateral meetings linking institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, and policy experts.
Opening the forum, HE President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined six strategic priorities driving the nation's macroeconomic growth, highlighting capital market development, green economic transition, AI integration, and the strengthening of legal frameworks for investor protection.
Uzbekistan continues to expand its inbound foreign direct investment (FDI) portfolio, having successfully secured $123 billion in investments over the past five years.
The three-day forum featured dedicated project showcases spanning light industry, geology, electrical and mechanical engineering, and chemical processing, allowing project developers to present direct equity and venture opportunities to global investors. Concluding sessions addressed manufacturing value-chain expansions, export competitiveness, technological integration in agribusiness to safeguard food security, and investment frameworks aimed at accelerating pharmaceutical and medical technology innovation.
